No. 80/100 copies on papier du Japon issued with the additional portfolio of illustrations to Baudelaire's Les Fleurs Du Mal on Velin du Marais ('Suite tres rare'- Carteret) that was not issued with the ordinary edition. pp. 215,[4]; pp.9ff. The text volume with numeous illustrations & full-page plates, the portfolio with 9 full-page plates, all numbered 80/100. Both in illustrated publisher's wrappers. Small mark to upper cover of the Baudelaire portfolio, but otherwise both quite excellent, fresh, and clean. With two moden slip-cases with leather labels, gilt. The portfolio.  34 x 26 cm, 2 ff. Bl. - contains suite of nine heliogravures on copper in black - 2 ff. bl., in sheets under a green cover filled, printed and illustrated, reproducing on the front cover, in reduction, the frontispiece. This was the second and last printing in this format of this series composed by Odilon Redon for a first illustrated edition of Les Fleurs du mal which never appeared. The first printing, also in rotogravure (Evely process) and identical to ours but with larger margins and with the letter, was the work of the Belgian publisher Demain in 1890. It was limited to 43 units (out of the 50 planned). The following year the same publisher gave a reduced version in 8-inch format to 100 copies. This dition being no 80/100 which accompanies the head copies of Mellrio's monograph on Redon . Superb and delirious symbolist compositions, very rare in large format.
