Lovely 5 volume set of “The Etched Work of Whistler” Edward G. Kennedy Published by Grolier Club, 1910. This is one of the Limited Edition of 402, rare 5-volume set being the definitive catalogue raisonne of Whistler's etchings. The set Illustrates 442 Whistler etchings, most with multiple states, and totalling about 1000 collotype plates printed on tissue and mounted to card. (Large 4to) 37.5x31 cm (14¾x12¼"). An attractive set with half morocco, spines gilt-lettered in compartments. Condition is as near to fine as I could hope for in an edition published 115 years ago, bindings do have a couple of bumps and there is a little loss to one of the heads and tail but inside contents are all clean and fresh,  also included is a 1978 reprint of The Etched Work of Whistler which is has a text introduction, description to all the etchings  and full index to the 5 volume set.
