A copy of The Earthly Paradise Vol II, printed by William Morris at the Kelmscott Press and finished on the 24th day of June 1896 Black ink with red corner titles The Doom of King Acrisius, using  Golden type on Batchelor hand-made paper. The book bound in velum with gold lettering to the spine and ribbon ties: Size  23.9 x 16.7 x 1.9 cm; pp. [8] + 124.                                                                                                                                                                                                          This book also comes with an interesting provenance, containing two previous owners bookplates, firstly that of the Author "Albert Louis Cotton" is known for his historical fiction set in the 17th century, particularly in Naples, Italy. His work, "The Company of Death," is a significant historical artefact that has been selected by scholars for its cultural importance, and  who also published  " The Kelmscott Press  And The New Printing " in August 1898 in the Contemporary Review.  The second Bookplate is that of Sir Edward Penton KBE (18 June 1875 – 21 December 1967) was a British Clothing administrator and Liberal Party politician who was Mayor of St Marylebone.                                                                                                                                                                 Condition: Limp Vellum covers with green ribbon ties that have been replaced, vellum show signs of wear and has a small nick out of top corner but are still good. Original pages are all clean and bright, unfortunately of the 124 pages twelve leaves had become detached and were lost . These have now been reproduced from HD scans and printed on handmade Lokata paper that closely matches original, these were produced to give complete story and are laid in loose, so as not to misrepresent.

A rare find that has great provenance gives a sense of historic connection to William Morris himself.
