The Studio. An Illustrated Magazine of Fine and Applied Art, volumes I-XXVI bound in 13, London: Offices of the Studio, 1893-1902, numerous colour and monochrome plates and illustrations, including the two fold out posters from Issues 1 and 2. The Aubrey Beardsley Joan of Arc entering Orleans in Issue 2 and the very large Robert W. Macbeth print "Weed-burners in the Fens" in issue 1 both in really lovely condition.  and five auto-lithographs by James McNeill Whistler (in volumes 3, 6, 8 & 10), occasional minor spotting mainly to endpapers, top edge gilt, contemporary tan half calf gilt, bindinggs tight, clean and bright internally, overall condition is really  very good , a lovely set  rare to find such a really nice early set still with all lithographs still intact, giving a substantial run of one of the most significant arts magazines of its time, a major influence on the development of the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau movement. 
The Studio: An Illustrated Magazine of Fine and Applied Art was an illustrated fine arts and decorative arts magazine published in London from 1893 until 1964. The founder and first editor was Charles Holme. The magazine exerted a major influence on the development of the Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts movements. It was absorbed into Studio International magazine in 1964. Holmes' firm, The Studio, Ltd., grew to be "Britain's largest publisher of magazines and books on art and design in the first half of the 20th century". The Studio promoted the work of "New Art" artists, designers and architects. It played a major part in introducing the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Charles Voysey to a wide audience, and was especially influential in Europe.
